Specimen Requests

Sarah Crews is working with Jim and Elizabeth Berry, and are looking for a specimen of Paratheuma shirahamaensis from which to gather genomic data. The specimen could be in the form of an extract, a few legs, or an entire specimen. The specimen can be returned to you or deposited in the California Academy of Sciences. Newer specimens are typically easier to work with for molecular data, but they have had success obtaining DNA from specimens that were not preserved for molecular work (~75%) up to around 30 years old.

Please email Sarah CREWS at [email protected]. Thank you!
