PhD Opportunity: Work on Mygalomorph Spider Systematics and Evolution in Australia
Work with a multi-disciplinary team from the University of Western Australia (Prof. Leigh Sim-mons, Dr Jeremy Wilson), the Western Australian Museum (Dr Mark Harvey) and the Queensland Museum (Dr Michael Rix).
Design your own project as part of a grant investigating taxonomy, systematics, and genital evolution in Aname – Australia’s most diverse genus of mygalomorph spider (trapdoors, tarantulas and relatives).
Develop new skills in molecular phylogenetics, arachnid morphology, comparative phylogenetic anal-yses, and taxonomy.
